What is Body Psychotherapy? And why lasting healing can only be found in the integration of the body and mind?

In Body Psychotherapy we focus on the relationship between the mind and body. Everything that happens to us, we experience through our bodies, emotions and mind simultaneously. When we process feelings and emotions while being fully present and connected to what is happening in our bodies, then true healing begins to happen.

Have you worked with different therapists? Have you tried out endless different modalities, but still feel stuck with the same pain, and your situation just seems hopeless to you?

Through Brainspotting in combination with Parts Work and Inner Child Healing, we gently begin to release the different layers that relate to the root core of your sadness, anger and frustration. When we bring healing to root core of our pain, then true healing begins to happen. After each session you will have gained more clarity and insight, as your life deeply begins to shift and transform.

In the course of our work together, you will find a deeper understanding, healing, and closure with your past. You will be able to move forward in your life, as the emotional blockages you have been carrying start to resolve themselves and you begin to feel lighter and more at peace. In addition you will receive tools that will enhance your coping skills in your everyday life, and help grow your awareness of what is happening both inside of you and around you.

Session Structure

Our sessions are 55 minutes, and I use this time so that we can slowly and gently move into the emotions and memories that have caused the difficulties, struggles, and pain you are experiencing in your life today.

We begin with a deep relaxation, where you are guided into a calm and open state.  From here, we use guided imagery that allows you to listen inwards, as all trauma and emotions are stored within your body. From there we access the emotions or the memories connected to the pain and patterns you are experiencing today.  

This work allows you to release and let go of the unconscious beliefs that sabotage your life.  Like computer programs, these beliefs run without us ever even seeing them, and limit our perception of what we can and cannot do. 

Everytime we give space to listen and connect inwards, we retrieve a part of ourselves and become more whole. With time, we can find that our lives become wholly our own again.
